Taking Action

This brief, action-oriented blog offers free resources you can use today to build confidence and prepare for the fall semester, no matter what it holds.

My blog this week is a bit briefer and all action oriented. We have some great free resources that you can use today and gain confidence for fall, regardless of where your classroom is. One is a new article about teaching the math of COVID, written by one of our consultants who trained as an infectious disease specialist.

1. Using the pandemic to educate

Arlene Vinion Dubiel is a consultant for Almy Education and trained as an infectious disease specialist. She wrote a special in-depth blog on how to use the COVID pandemic in the math classroom. She includes many sources of data and ways to use them. Check it out here.

2. Last week I did a Facebook live on practical strategies teachers can start working on today, most of them for free, to get ready for the fall. Some are from the planning I'm doing this fall for my class. Check out the recording here.

3. Get free on-demand training and receive coupons for related programs. Check out our training "How to move your math or science class online" and "How to use Kahoot and Desmos effectively with remote instruction" for immediate access.
